The Research Specialist-SAS position is responsible for providing expertise and training in statistical analysis and SAS tools. It will help shape the future of pricing and revenue optimization for new and existing industry verticals using SAS tools.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

Design and carry out statistical data analysis in support of research activities

Partner with IDeaS Scientists to investigate, analyze, communicate and improve performance of the IDeaS forecasting, optimization and pricing engines

Interface with external and internal clients

Support the design of new algorithms through validation and testing

Perform model tuning and calibration for existing products

Transform current processes utilizing Excel and VB into SAS-based technologies

Design and develop new processes utilizing SAS
-
Translate business requirements from various areas of the business (Client Services, Consulting, R&D) into SAS-based deliverables

Mentor other personnel in the use of SAS tools

Design and develop prototypes in an efficient manner for R&D utilizing SAS tools and programming

Work with multiple operating systems and anticipate technical anomalies and enhancements for various environments

Perform testing of software; verifies, tracks, and fixes "bugs"; modifies software design, as necessary

Address technical and design issues with users and customers; anticipate time needed to complete projects and assist in product scheduling

Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Job Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree in math, statistics, or similar field
-
2+ years of working with statistical concepts and tools
-
2+ years of experience programming in SAS
-
2+ years of experience Utilizing Base SAS, SAS Web Reporting, Enterprise Miner
Preferences (not essential):
-
Ph.D. in math, statistics or similar
-
5 Years of Experience in SaaS
-
Familiar with the hospitality industry
-
Experience using/integrating with Salesforce.com

Experience mentoring/training employees in utilizing SAS Tools
